Gül Kremer, Wilkinson Professor in Interdisciplinary Engineering and coPI of the NSF-funded ADVANCE Midwest Partnership, has been appointed to a new role that will oversee the project to build the Therkildsen Industrial Engineering Building at Iowa State University, the new home for the department of industrial and manufacturing systems engineering (IMSE). Kremer formerly served as chair of the department from 2016 to 2021, and worked closely to develop the project with C.G. "Turk" and Joyce Therkildsen, who provided the $42 million lead gift for the new facility.
