Did you know? Equal Pay Day symbolizes how far into the year a woman must work, on average, to earn as much as her male counterparts did during the previous year. Red is worn on this day as a symbol of how far women are "in the red" with regard to pay.
Black women need to work more than 66 years to earn what a white, non Hispanic man earns in 40 years in the same career.
Latinas typically earn 55 cents for every dollar earned by white, non Hispanic men, and must work nearly 23 months to earn what white men earn in 12 months.
